Biography

Joanna Goranko is a Polish pianist born in 2001 in Opole. With distinction, she graduated from the Jadwiga Kaliszewska General Music School under the guidance of Professor Joanna Marcinkowska. She studied at the Karol Szymanowski Music Academy in Katowice under the direction of Professor Zbigniew Raubo in 2020/2021.

She then continued her studies in Germany at the Franz Liszt University of Music in Weimar, under the tutelage of Professor Grigory Gruzman. Currently, she is studying at the Zurich University of the Arts under the guidance of Professor Konstantin Scherbakov.

Joanna has performed concerts both in Poland and abroad, including in Pamplona, San Sebastián, Munich, Moscow, Vienna, Paris, Hamamatsu, Miami, Rome, and many cities in Germany and Switzerland. In 2022, she performed Chopin Recitals in Dubai during the international exhibition “Expo” 2020.

She is a laureate of numerous prestigious piano competitions, such as the International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition for Young Pianists in Foshan (III prize), the National Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition. 

Joanna Goranko has also been invited to Chopin concerts at renowned venues such as the Chopin Manor in Żelazowa Wola, the Chopin Museum, the Chopin Festival in Duszniki Zdrój, the Paris Chopin Festival “Chopin au Jardin,” and “Chopin a Paris.”

She is a recipient of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage Scholarship and a participant in the II Chopin Competition on Historical Instruments in 2023. In January 2024, she received a special award for performing Beethoven’s 3rd Piano Concerto as part of the “Duttweiler-Wettbewerb” competition in Zurich and was invited to perform at the Tonhalle. She also became a prizewinner of the piano competition “Valiant Forum” as part of the “Murten Classics” festival in Switzerland.
